The Early Music America Touring Ensembles Roster is comprised of early music ensembles in North America and is intended as a tool for presenters and others interested in booking early music ensembles for concert series and events.
EMA received a 2009 grant from the National Endowment for the Arts to support professional development services for early music artists, including the creation of this touring ensembles roster. Applications from professional EMA member ensembles were due by the end of June 2009; an independent panel of 3 judges (all presenters) reviewed the applications over the summer and selected the ensembles to be included in the roster.
The information in the online version of the roster will be updated regularly. The online searchable database offers visitors the ability to search by keyword, type of music played, type of ensemble, fee range and state/province where the ensemble is based.
